Disney sulla neve, arricchita di immagini, di riferimenti storici, di
classifiche, di numeri che misurano il suo sviluppo e il suo prestigio,
i momenti di crisi ben superati…fino ad essere, oggi, il
massimo evento internazionale dello sci giovanile.
Ma è festa anche degli adulti che da un’edizione
all’altra hanno costruito l’evento, sempre
più colorato e gioioso, partecipando
all’esuberanza dei giovani atleti, applaudendo ai loro
successi, facendo sorridere anche gli ultimi, coinvolgendo genitori e
parenti, dilatando sul territorio un clima di universalità
in una felice confusione di volti e di lingue…quasi un pezzo
di mondo nuovo.
Il Trofeo Topolino Sci è stato ed è questo, fin
da quelle prime sciate di cuccioli a Courmayeur nel 1958.
The following account tells the story of
Walt Disney’s great
character, Mickey Mouse, on the snow. Through images, historical
references, results lists and numbers a clear picture emerges of the
project, Topolino, of its development, its prestige, of its darker
moments and how they were overcome… of its current status as
the most important international event in the youth skiing calendar.
It’s an event that is a fantastic celebration for the adults
too, for those who have helped it become more and more extravagant over
the years and who have shared in the joys of the young athletes
– cheering them on when they’re winning and making
them smile against the odds when they are losing.
Parents and relatives have been drawn into this big party atmosphere by
the organisers who have managed, over the years, to create almost a new
world where a climate of universality reigns amidst a happy confusion
of faces and languages.
The Topolino Ski Trophy has been and still is all of this, from the
very ski sessions with young children in Courmayeur in 1958.
